What this tool does
Keeps measured flow, operating schedule, current tariffs, treatment cost and added operating cost separate.
When to use it
Use after a feasible rinse change and before capital approval; test production and maintenance sensitivity.
Inputs and supported units
Each labelled field explains the quantity it expects. Unit-system changes convert existing numeric entries once and keep calculations on a single SI internal basis. Supported shared units include L/min and GPM, metres and feet, kPa and psi, millimetres and inches, kW and hp, and °C and °F as relevant.
Calculation or decision method
Net savings = saved volume × entered unit costs − annual operating cost
How to interpret the result
Read the primary result with the supporting breakdown and warning. A plausible number is not evidence that every input, operating case or design constraint has been included.
Worked example
Reducing 1,000 to 100 L/h for eight hours across 250 days saves 1,800 m³/year before entered costs.
Assumptions
Representative production, matched meter and load boundaries, user-entered process targets and tariffs, and stable conditions during each comparison.
Limitations
No bath chemistry, final rinse acceptance, discharge limit, treatment package, permit condition or worker exposure control is selected or approved.
