What this tool does
Separate whole-system and local symptoms, static and dynamic behavior, restrictions, source changes, pump systems and leak indicators.
When to use it
Use it before buying a booster pump. Record actual static pressure, dynamic pressure and flow where safe and permitted.
Inputs and supported units
Each labelled field explains the quantity it expects. Unit-system changes convert existing numeric entries once and keep calculations on a single SI internal basis. Supported shared units include L/min and GPM, metres and feet, kPa and psi, millimetres and inches, kW and hp, and °C and °F as relevant.
Calculation or decision method
The rules prioritize cause groups from scope, pressure drop, equipment and change history. They do not assign certainty or replace on-site inspection.
How to interpret the result
Read the primary result with the supporting breakdown and warning. A plausible number is not evidence that every input, operating case or design constraint has been included.
Worked example
If every outlet is affected, dynamic pressure falls sharply, and a filter is present, compare safe upstream/downstream pressure under flow before assuming the supply needs a booster.
Assumptions
Answers describe the same event and the user can make only non-invasive observations safely.
Limitations
No remote questionnaire can locate a hidden leak, verify a utility condition, test electrical equipment or inspect a pressure vessel.
