What this tool does

Keeps rated output, user-supplied manufacturer correction factors, operating time, demand and usable storage as separate quantities.

When to use it

Use after finding correction factors for the exact membrane and feed conditions; do not substitute generic temperature or pressure correction formulas.

Inputs and supported units

Each labelled field explains the quantity it expects. Unit-system changes convert existing numeric entries once and keep calculations on a single SI internal basis. Supported shared units include L/min and GPM, metres and feet, kPa and psi, millimetres and inches, kW and hp, and °C and °F as relevant.

Calculation or decision method

Adjusted daily production = rated production × entered correction factors × actual hours / rating hours

The planner compares reserve-adjusted daily demand and the larger of daily deficit or peak-period storage need with initially available usable storage.

How to interpret the result

Read the primary result with the supporting breakdown and warning. A plausible number is not evidence that every input, operating case or design constraint has been included.

Worked example

A 2,000 L rating over 24 hours, operated 20 hours with factors 0.9, 0.95 and 0.98, yields about 1,396.5 L/day. Against 1,200 L/day plus 10% reserve, the daily margin is about 76.5 L.

Assumptions

The entered water test, flow, product concentration and manufacturer values represent the same source, use and operating condition.

Limitations

The result is a transparent preliminary calculation or decision screen. It does not establish contaminant removal, potable safety, product certification, regulatory compliance or an approved treatment design.

Safety and review boundary. Test water through an appropriate accredited laboratory, follow current product labels and SDS, verify certified contaminant-reduction claims in an official listing, and obtain local public-health or qualified design review where required.
